Description and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. Being a critical component of the renowned Design + Innovation Team which takes in 65+ design awards globally every year, you will lead a young, diversified and talented UXUI design team to collaborate with cross-disciplinary design teams, including Design Research, HW design and CMF, to come up with consumer-centric, groundbreaking UXUI design strategy and solution for Lenovo’s IDG (Intelligent Device Group) business.

  2. This role reports directly to the Executive Director of HW & SW Design. We expect the UX design leader with demonstrated experiences to advance and apply consumer-centric design method and extract unique design insights to create purposeful and innovative UX design solutions.

Job Requirements:

· Lead and manage the UXUI Design team and develop full understanding of design objectives, identifying methodologies and best practice, and designing tailor-made design process to meet design goals and drives repeatable success.

· Design & develop world-class, award-winning UX design and innovations to wow our end-users and create values for business and elevate Lenovo Brand.

· Independently and in collaboration with the rest of the design organization, to build trusting relationships, credibility, and strong communications skills to influence internal business stakeholders, drive alignment to inform project decision-making and drives business values.

· Develop and leverage repeatable tools, templates, process documentation, and communication plans for various programs and efforts.

· Build strong partnerships with internal cross-functional teams, and external vendors/agencies.

· Comfortable working in the face of ambiguity, and able to solve immediate needs in balance with the long-term vision

· Develop Lenovo digital design capabilities, pushing the boundaries of the design and defining Lenovo standards of UX design quality.

· Collaborate on business requirements, analyze technical feasibility & limitations, conduct or participate research on user behavior, and translate them into user stories, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

· Forming and presenting proposals to executives; Not only responsible for delivering design outcomes but also participating in strategic-level conversations with key stakeholders

· Mentor, support and inspire other UX designers. Share expert knowledge on UX/UI methods, tools, and trends, and help frow Lenovo UX design talents

· Collaborate with SPM, SPO, STPM and other experts to deliver high-quality design

Qualifications

· 15+ years of relevant work experiences in UXUI design industry, plus at least 10+ design leadership experiences years in UXUI design function.

· Strong project management and proven ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments and identify, employ resources needed to achieve results.

· Expert knowledge of UXUI design process, SW Agile dev process and SW product development experiences.

· Experience with successfully managing a large, diverse workload with conflicting deadlines and priorities.

· Understanding of multiple approaches and ability to adapt and find best UXUI design solutions to business’ versatile needs in a fast-changing environment is expected. Ability to bring clarity and structure when managing fluid expectations and evolving demand.

· Strong design operational experience in identifying problems and developing solutions at scale to gain efficiencies and foster productivity

· Strong organizational skills; strong written, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage workflow and communication with both external and internal stake holders is a “must.”

· Ability to travel for design meetings, attendance at conferences, or internal meetings.

· Experts in creating architect framework and key interaction paradigm

· Experts in leading closed-loop design process from research, ideate, concept, validation and refinement.

· Extensive knowledge in key technology, WinOS & AndroidOS nuances & differences, basic SW engineering feasibility

· Be passionate about all things in user experience and other areas of design and innovation, have hands-on experience in planning and conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and identifying accessibility concerns.
