Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is currently seeking a Safety Supervisor in the Beltsville, Maryland area.
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and operations of the Project Safety, Health & Environmental Program, safety inspections, accident investigations and other items pertaining to the client, Federal, State and Local regulations. They also conduct training, new hire orientation and Safety Meetings.
A successful Construction Safety Supervisor will have:
5 years of safety related experience, at the management level in the heavy construction field
A thorough understanding of OHSA Construction Standards
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations and standards
The ability to complete reports relative to jobsite inspections
Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office
Management, leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify hazards during construction work
Ability to lead a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi task
Ability to develop and implement an effective site-specific safety plan.
Ability to identify hazards and to develop corrective actions to eliminate them
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety / Health or similar discipline
OSHA Outreach Trainer – Construction Standards
CHST Certification
ASSE Membership
