The Eli Lilly and Company Capability Center, India (LCCI) is expanding our Information and Digital Solution (IDS – formerly IT) team as part of LCCI’s broader IT strategy, to support current and future application development needs across the enterprise. LCCI is looking for team leaders across diverse areas of the IDS organization including manufacturing, supply chain, Clinical Development, data platforms, analytics, infrastructure, sales and marketing, research and development, and information security.

The IDS Team Leader will enable Lilly to leverage modern technology to solve complex business problems. The primary objectives for a Team Leader are to provide technical leadership, people management, business understanding needed to ensure that LCCI IDS is strongly positioned to operate in a self-sufficient manner within a complex Lilly IDS and business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a global team, including IDS business area leaders, architects, project managers, designers and other developers

  • Provide deep leadership and coaching in the project delivery lifecycle. Focus on shared learning, continuous improvement, and drive adoption of best practices

  • Demonstrate strong leadership in terms of ability to motivate, inspire, encourage, and challenge the team you lead to maximize their production.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork and people development

  • Provide mentorship to accelerate the development of solution architecture and technical expertise, specific to the Lilly IDS environment

  • Knowledge of architectural options and the ability to select based on needs and budget. Understand the business processes being supported by the team

  • Coach and develop team members through performance management, development planning, promotion, and career plans; represent those team members in talent discussions.

  • Resourcing - continue the team growth through selection techniques, testing and interviews.

  • Organize your work within an Agile team & Knowledge on Sprint ceremonies (Planning, Estimation, Execution, Reporting & highlight Risks & Impediments)

Key Skills:

  • Experience building and leading development and support teams that design and deliver data intensive applications, core analytics, data wrangling and BI solutions in on-prem and cloud

  • Experience building and leading development teams in major cloud technology modernization and data migration initiatives and programs

  • Ability to identify pain points and drive improvement activity across the portfolio through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking

  • Ability to develop effective strategies and ensuring their implementation at a portfolio level by defining frameworks

  • Ability to proactively identify potential problems and risks at the portfolio level and address in advance

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage within it.

  • Solid understanding of business functional areas and management issues as well as the IT organizations systems and capabilities.

  • Experience leading highly motivated engineers, with specialized skills and diverse functional elements.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and decision-making skills

  • Possess a positive and energetic attitude, with a view to moving the business forward

  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, and DevOps)

  • Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

  • Understanding of architecture, design principles to guide the development team

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills including with executive level presentations.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of management of a team or teams, should be able to lead a team of around 8 to 12 people

  • Minimum 10 years of total experience

  • Proven track record in capacity management and project estimation

  • Strong background having breadth of experience and technical knowledge

  • Lead teams to rationalize, optimize and support applications for maximum speed and scalability with industry best practices.

  • Proven experience leading a team in a regulated industry including but not limited to, understanding regulations, SOPs, computer systems validation, and change control.

  • Preferred to have experience / interest related to Pharma domain

  • Preferred certification in one of fields PMP, PMI, PRINCE II, Safe , CSM, SEI etc
