Software Principal Engineer (Security)

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world with utmost focus on Product Security. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for Data Protection (secondary storage) products — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer (Security), you will be a part of a team in a very fast paced, agile environment that requires strong technical ability, flexibility, sound judgement and creative thinking.

You will:

  • Contribute to the overall Security of the product. Identify and assess vulnerabilities and guide teams to implement the same. Experience as System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer, scanning tools like Burpsuite, Nessus, Qualys, Malware, Rootkit, Web-scan, Black-duck, Twistlock running on all virtual environments.

  • Experience in Pen testing in storage domain and experience in Threat modelling. Find security vulnerabilities early in release cycle. Develop technical solutions and recommend new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.

  • Knowledge of database and operating system security experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, data encryption, etc. AWS/Azure like cloud platform as a service

(PaaS) security.

  • Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols. Be a member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test, and delivery.

  • CVE , SLES, RHEL database analysis, 3rd party component knowledge, Static and Dynamic Code review. Strong knowledge of container dockers. Mentor team members in security arena. Guide teams on security best practices and define security hardening guidelines.

Essential Requirements

  • 8-13 Years of Product Software Security domain experience.

  • Advanced Automation experience in Python & necessary libraries to be able to automate, run scans, interpret results, and recommend priority/severity/impact. Reduce manual and repeat work to near zero.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be a team player who likes to work in a high energy Agile atmosphere.

  • Any of the following certification adds advantage.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

  • CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Masters.

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.

  • Experience working with Kubernetes & Microservices is plus. Experience in storage, telecom, server management software.
