Job Description

Responsible for overseeing and managing the safety and compliance of transportation 3PL providers, as well as leading efforts to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud within operations. This role requires expertise in transportation industry regulations. The manager will implement and refine safety protocols, develop fraud prevention strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the safe and secure transport of goods. This role is located in Bentonville, AR and reports to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management.

  • Perform continuous monitoring on qualified carriers to ensure compliance with Walmart standards through a prescribed qualification process, while also building and maintaining ongoing relationships with carriers to drive external capacity growth.

  • Knowledge of Laws, regulations, and safety rules regarding materials transportation; Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and state laws and regulations; vehicle maintenance; HazMat bill of ladings, Compliance, Safety, Accountability basics; other transportation paperwork.

  • Develop, implement, and manage carrier safety programs to ensure compliance with industry regulations (FMCSA, DOT)

  • Ensure all carriers meet safety standards and monitor compliance.

  • Lead efforts to identify, prevent, and mitigate carrier - related fraud, including theft, document falsification, and identity fraud.

  • Implement fraud detection tools and analytics to monitor carrier activities and transactions.

  • Responsible for planning and executing events, safety meetings, accident review meetings, and safety oversee celebrations.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills are required to develop and communicate informative presentations and strategies for stakeholders and managers to gain understanding and consensus.

  • Identify and implement new processes to streamline carrier management and enhance safety and fraud prevention measures.

  • Develop and deliver training for internal teams on safety protocols and fraud prevention techniques.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives revising policies and procedures to reflect current industry standards

  • Collaborate with teams such as legal, operations, IT department to align safety and fraud prevention strategies with company goals.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carrier safety and fraud issues and provide updates to leadership

  • Prepare detailed repots on safety metrics and fraud cases, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive records related to carrier safety performance

  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of safety and fraud prevention processes across teams

Candidate Must Have's

  • Strong knowledge of transportation industry regulations (FMCSA, DOT, etc.)

  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive process improvements

  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with others

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 2 years' experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 4 years' experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area. 2 years' experience with Microsoft Office.
