Sutter Health Supervisor, Inpatient Pharmacy in Berkeley, California

Position Overview:

Responsible for supervision of the daily work flow of pharmacy operations and activities to ensure efficient, effective, and accurate levels of operation. Assures compliance to established policies and procedures, laws, and regulations. Other duties include training, staff scheduling, input for personnel performance assessment, and staff development. Serves as a clinical pharmacist and carries out the dispensing and clinical functions of that job description. Functions as a drug specialist and therapy consultant in promoting optimum medication use in patient care areas whose client base includes patients of all ages.

EDUCATION:

Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Familiarity with California Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations focused on Pharmacist and Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities.

Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical generic and trade names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations relating to the practice of Pharmacy.

Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and/or leaders to achieve business objectives.

Demonstrates commitment to providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer needs/requests in a prompt, courteous manner.

Leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.

Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service and achieving business results.

Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

Pay Range is $97.93 to $117.51 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
