Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance (AD) division has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, versatile, and highly collaborative engineering Senior Engineering Manager to join our Sensors & Special Programs (S&SP) team leading the Flight Simulation and Labs (FSL) organization in Berkeley, MO .

The FSL Senior Engineering Manager leads the organization tasked with designing, building, operating, and maintaining state of the art simulation and integration laboratories supporting marketing, customer engagement and business development through system development, integration, verification and training for F/A-18, F-15, T-7A, MQ-25A and Advanced/Proprietary Programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cost, schedule, and quality performance for FSL hardware and software development contracts and projects.

  • Design and fabrication of simulation and lab hardware, firmware, and software.

  • Simulation and modeling software development and operation.

  • Maintenance and day-to-day operation of Simulation, System Integration Labs and Iron Bird facilities and infrastructure.

  • Coordination with SSG on facility allocation / utilization.

  • Management of New Business Funds and Capital funded projects.

  • Sustainment of Capital assets.

  • Assure Boeing Lab Safety requirements are met.

  • Assure IT and Security facility and network requirements are met.

  • Property management.

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.

  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage team, fostering their career growth and build a strong team culture based on inclusion, innovation, and respect.

  • Ability to think critically, problem solve and comfortable working through ambiguity.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 10+ years of experience in Simulation and/or System Integration Lab environments.

  • 10+ years of experience in team or project leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

  • An Active clearance to a Special Access Program.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Has a high focus on collaboration among cross-functional teams at every level.

  • Demonstrates an innovative approach to solving problems.

  • Experience in Simulation and/or Laboratory operations.

  • Understanding an implementation of Model Based Engineering concepts.
