Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)’s Systems Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Engineer for the Air Dominance programs team in St. Louis, Missouri to lead configuration planning, identification, change control, tracking, and verification, and facilitate program baseline management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assess and collaborate in the development of prime contract and supplier contract configuration management requirements.

  • Writes configuration management plans. Define corresponding baseline management practices and business processes.

  • Establish and apply methodology for product and document identification.

  • Prepare change control documents such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), Change Documents/Change Requests (CD/CRs), Conduct program Change Control Boards (CCB), perform configuration audits, coordinate product configuration definition documentation, and others.

  • Leads fellow configuration management engineers in understanding and execution of configuration management principles and job practices, and support of industry quality audits for Configuration Management. Provide configuration management guidance and oversight to program team members.

  • Access product definition data and lead the generation of corresponding deliverables.

  • Collaborate with customers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.

  • 10+ year of experience in engineering.

  • 10+ year using Excel to perform data analysis.

  • 10+ year editing PDF and Word files.

  • Experience with Change Management.

  • 5+ year of experience with Configuration Management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal networks; an understanding of the cultures of organizations and ability to apply this information in a way that strengthens the organization's strategic plan and profitability.

Typical Education/Experience:

(Level 5/Senior/Expert) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
