Job Title: TIG Welder

Job Description

We are actively seeking a TIG/GTAW Welder for our operations, available to work on both 1st and 2nd shifts, with initial training on the 1st shift. The role involves working on fan frames and castings to conduct repairs, build-ups, and welding. You will receive a process sheet detailing specific points requiring attention, along with a suggested schedule and reference pictures. Tasks include transporting castings to your station, following the process sheet to TIG weld plugs, build up flanges, and more, while managing high-intensity TIG welding tasks. Post-completion, items are sent to finishing processes before moving to the next task. This position requires continuous welding, with some projects extending several days.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years of TIG welding experience

  • Understanding of puddle control

  • Experience with magnesium or aluminum; stainless steel and Inconel are a plus

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. daily

Soft Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions

  • Capacity for handling physically demanding tasks

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Berlin, Connecticut.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a separate weld shop off the production floor, featuring sectioned-off, well-ventilated stations that are well-lit, organized, and clean. The environment is designed ergonomically with epoxy floors, and each station is equipped with all necessary tools. Stations are adaptable for both left and right-handed individuals. Safety gear such as weld gloves, helmets, and steel-toe shoes are mandatory.
