Intermountain Health Patient Transporter in Billings, Montana

Job Description:

This position is responsible for transporting of patients, focusing on quality, safety, and customer service, while providing care and compassion to patients, families, visitors and staff.

As a Patient Transporter you need to know how to:

  • Transport patients, charts, specimens, and required equipment to various treatment and diagnostic areas throughout the hospital in a safe and efficient manner 100% of the time.

  • Provide emergency assistance to patients who become ill during transport process until clinical staff can be notified and assistance arrives.

  • Comfort patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.

  • Coordinate the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

  • Verify mode of transportation, obtain patient chart, necessary paperwork, required linens, and/or equipment.

  • Notify nursing staff of patient being transported and the destination.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval), required.

  • At least two (2) years of customer service experience, preferred.

  • At least one (1) year of medical experience, preferred.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.24 - $21.92
