We are recruiting for the role of a Tax Sr. - Corporate in the Healthcare industry. This position is based in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, and offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in transactional tax and corporate accounting. The role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and overseeing tax liabilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress quickly within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the entire tax process within the organization.

• Liaise with relevant departments to ensure proper tax documentation and records.

• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

• Handle transactional tax matters efficiently and accurately.

• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP for tax and accounting purposes.

• Prepare and present regular reports on tax and accounting matters to higher management.

• Perform account reconciliation and prepare journal entries as needed.

• Manage and oversee the month-end close process.

• Handle sales tax returns and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.

• Train and mentor junior staff members in the team.

Requirements • Proficiency in various Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Comprehensive understanding and ability to perform Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Compliance procedures and practices

• Experience with Transaction tax

• Proficiency in using VLOOKUP function

• Familiarity with Tax Law and its application

• Ability to manage and calculate Tax Liabilities

• Experience in dealing with State tax and Local Taxes

• Proficiency in Tax Accounting

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries

• Experience in Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of Sales Tax and ability to prepare Sales Tax Returns
