Digital Workplace & Collaboration Engineer

Role purpose

The Digital Workplace & Collaboration Engineer will be responsible for managing, implementing, and supporting our suite of Microsoft collaboration technologies, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Viva Engage, Messaging, and other related services which are part of 0365. This role requires deep technical expertise and strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, features, best practices. Keep a user-centric perspective in all solutions and services. Support projects that bring added value to the business users in the scope of digital collaboration.

Key responsibilities

Solution Design and Implementation:

Develop and implement digital workplace solutions to enhance productivity and collaboration. Design and deploy tools like Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Establish standards and control data locations for collaboration tools.

Technical Support and Maintenance

Provide technical support for digital workplace tools. Monitor and maintain system health and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with digital workplace technologies.

SharePoint Online Management

Manage and maintain SharePoint platform for optimal performance, security, and functionality. Review policies, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues. Ensure compliance through access controls and security audits.

Microsoft Teams Management

Administer and maintain Microsoft Teams for communication and collaboration.

Configure and manage Teams settings, including calling plans. Set up policies for chat, meetings, and file sharing. Integrate Microsoft 365 services and third-party applications.

Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.

Active Directory and Entra ID Operations

Administer Active Directory (AD), implement and manage AD security measures, access controls, and authentication protocols. Perform regular maintenance and updates for reliability and security. Troubleshoot and resolve AD-related issues and support SSO implementation.

Security and Compliance Management

Ensure security and compliance across all Microsoft collaboration tools.

Implement and manage access controls, user permissions, and data protection policies.

Monitor and improve the Security Score. Configure and manage data retention, eDiscovery, and legal holds. Conduct security and risk assessments to identify and mitigate threats. Incorporate security by design in all systems and solutions.

Skills

Professional Experience

At least 2-3 years of experience and proficiency in administering Sharepoint Online, Microsoft Teams, One Drive and other Microsoft collaboration technologies, including Entra ID.

Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, features, and best practices.

Technical Expertise

Proficient in the following technologies: 0365, Sharepoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Messaging, Viva engage and Entra ID. Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, features, and best practices. Experience with PowerShell scripting for administration tasks. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services and integration with other Microsoft tools. Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft Licensing.

Troubleshoots Technical Issues

Demonstrate a proactive approach to troubleshooting by continually seeking additional steps and creative solutions to resolve issues.

Certifications and Additional Skills

ITIL Certification (highly desirable)

Microsoft certifications like SharePoint Administrator Associate; Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals; Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
