UK Field Service Engineer

Position Summary

Handling customer calls, preventative maintenance, Field service corrections and field service visits, Installations, critical issues and application support of Thermofisher CDD instruments at customer site, exhibitions, demo’s, in UK & Ireland and NEU countries. Close collaboration with sales and commercial leads.

Responsibilites

Reporting to Senior Service Manager and/or team lead, recording all documentation into Service MAX (CRM) and adhering to QMS processes as well Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and guidelines, Complaint handling, adhering to service contracts. Working independently and proactively and as part of the NUE service team. Responsible for timely management of PM’s, local spare parts' inventory, housekeeping and recording of all documentation. To work remotely in the field and be available for travel both locally and internationally at short notice and occasional out of hours travel.

Essential tasks, responsibilities and authorizations

  • Customer support.

  • Field service duties.

  • Work independently as part of a Field Service organization team.

  • Sound solid understanding of analytical instrumentation and Field Service experience in installation, servicing, PM, fault solving of IVD instrumentation

  • Frequent travel away from home – 75%

  • Customer training with applications support

  • Planning of customer support

  • Coordinate service activities and communicate regularly

  • Participate in training needs!

  • Documentation management into Service Max.

  • Participate in internal meetings

  • Other Project work when needed

  • Being a Thermo Fisher Ambassador.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications for Education

University degree or similar - technical skills/area, electrical/mechanical/Chemistry/Biomedical or experience in desired field from similar roles.

Minimum Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Fluent spoken and written language skills (English, other Nordic language an advantage)

  • Shown experience in a Field Service clinical environment or equivalent

  • PC literacy including MS Office and Outlook

  • CRM

  • Customer centric

  • Internal trainings (technical/application/product)

  • Ability to communicate effectively and openly.

  • Experience in Frequent travel/working away from home an advantage.

  • Demonstrate a positive can-do demeanour.

  • Self starter and a proactive demeanour

  • Clean driving licence.
