Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Press Brake Operator III to set up and operate metal bending machines (Press Brake) in accordance with quality/quantity standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Draw new tools in library
Ability to back-save tooling library and programs to network
Call service and tech support for machine problems and work with techs
Coordinate and communicate any need for service or maintenance work with their lead and maintenance staff. Work with maintenance to ensure equipment stays running efficiently and ensure PMs are being performed
Ability to help with quoting new parts and what knowledge of what tooling will be needed
Skilled at Parallelism
Identify bend sequences of parts without reference sheets
Know and understand all menus on Brake Press Computer
Understand T-Factors for bending metal
Know how to look up type and thickness of metal for bend radius
Find the minimum punch size of material
Know how to calculate punch nets for different radius measurements
Ability to calibrate Press Brake Equipment
Know when and how to order tooling
Ability to train new employees and mentor current employees to reach company standards for quality and efficiency
Direct completion or complete process improvements including creating jigs
Exceed company standards for efficiency and quality PPM level for assigned work center
Lead and participate in Safety initiatives
Detect quality issues and exceed RMA goals
Direct work and ask team for ownership to meet deadlines and goals
Conduct team meetings with the Lead as needed
Provide Lead with necessary information on the schedule to ensure accuracy and meet demands
Look ahead at future schedule/capacity to provide feedback on potential overbooked time frames
Effectively define problems, determine the cause, identify a solution, and implement them
Populate white boards
Know how to open and shut down the shop
Train, identify, and implement lean processes and project improvement
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years’ related experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, memos, and simple instructions
Knowledge of basic business math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Must be comfortable with training new employees and mentoring current employees to reach company standards for quality and efficiency
EDUCATION
- High School diploma
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
