HealthPartners Vice President, Security in Bloomington, Minnesota

HealthPartners is hiring for a Vice President, Security. The Vice President, Security is the senior executive accountable for developing, implementing and directing the security operations program and further enhancing the culture around security for HealthPartners, including people, assets, reputation, and business. Provides strategic planning and operational oversight for all elements of an effective and functional organization-wide Security program that prioritizes and addresses security risks and creates a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and team members. Partners closely with Information Security & Technology on the physical security components of network protection. Provides organization-wide leadership in a manner that supports the organization's mission to improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients, and community. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Develops, implements, and manages strategic planning and coordination of an organization-wide risk-based security function, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Provides strong leadership, oversight and direction to the professional, technical, and support teams providing security services to the organization. This includes the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees. Ensures compliance to organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Identifies significant security risks in order to design strategies and implement solutions that prevent/reduce incidents and risks of harm, loss of organizational assets and limit liability, while ensuring safety of patients, team members and visitors. Oversees the design and implementation of all Security programs, including uniformed security officers, investigations, threat management, intelligence, training, case management, and education/awareness programs. Lead an Emergency Management team providing system-wide capabilities for preparation and response to emergencies including planning, procedures, training and exercising a comprehensive incident command structure. Integrate adaptive planning concepts into the corporate business continuity program to insure the business is prepared and able to execute a plan needed to recover from an event. Researches innovative security systems and technology solutions to design and oversee organization-wide coverage and efficiency. Ensures alignment of security functions across all locations and business units. Develops and manages the capital and expense budget for the organization's security operations and technologies. Develops and documents data-driven standards for measuring efficiency and effectiveness of security operations. Develops and manages projects and programs with significant financial, reputational and/or legal impact. Creates a culture and approach to security consistent with HealthPartners mission, vision and values and promotes an environment that assures all colleagues understand their role related to security. Ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Develops and maintains strategic and close relationships with municipal authorities, local public safety departments, high-level law enforcement, and intelligence and private sector counterparts. Develops and maintains relationships with senior leaders of all organizational units and briefs senior leaders on the status of Security issues and recommendations. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervision/Work Direction: Provides direct leadership and direction to multiple team members, including, but not limited to, directors, managers, supervisors, leads, security officers and/or contracted security staff. Internal/External Contacts: Daily interaction with internal department team members, organizational leaders, and organizational colleagues for the purpose of providing strong security services and support. Initiate and maintain relationships with external pe rs, regulatory agencies, federal, state and local law enforcement agency leaders, contractors and vendors and for the purpose of coordinating security services, managing community-wide security issues and events, and maintaining the reputation of HealthPartners. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Master's Degree and 15 years relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree and 20 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a management or senior management role in healthcare and/or corporate, law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship (including but not limited to EEO, discrimination and harassment laws). Working knowledge or ability to learn laws and regulations related to state and federal criminal codes, O.S.H.A., N.F.P.A., Joint Commission, Uniform building codes Experience managing a 24x7 operational environment with multiple locations and types of facilities Demonstrated Ability to: Establish and maintain excellent rapport and communications with leaders, team, and colleagues at all levels across organization Proactively manage outcomes through others, including staff who are not direct reports Exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion Effectively present to a variety of audiences Gain the cooperation of individuals/departments in sensitive, tense, or emotional situations Strategically plan and lead through ambiguity (e.g., set objectives and goals, anticipate and adjust for unexpected change, evaluate results, etc.) Use resources efficiently and in prioritized order within a nonprofit system that includes small margins and high needs Be patient, member, and customer focused Build consensus among individuals and work groups Research, collect, maintain, and analyze data Analyze and develop creative and workable solutions to risk-related business situations Maintain a high degree of confidentiality Organize and prioritize multiple priorities Be flexible in duties, work schedule and locations Operate standard office equipment and software PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced training or certification in the safety and security field, such as ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or related security designation. DECISION-MAKING: This position is expected to operate strategically, autonomously, but collaboratively, in accordance with organizational goals and priorities. Major organization-wide policy decisions and financial investments are presented to and reviewed by senior executive leadership.
