Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Legal team. The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Legal Department, individual lawyers, and legal professionals.

So what does a Legal Administrative Assistant do for us? They use their knowledge of preparing drafts of legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings, filing, record keeping in a legal environment, and updating legal calendars. Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite Applications, including being proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Workshare, and PowerPoint. They will also be electronically filing court documents using iCourt/Idaho Supreme Court Repository and US District Court/Bankruptcy Court ECF and PACER, among other platforms. They coordinate travel and meeting logistics and events while providing file management and organizational support to attorneys.

For this role, the ideal candidate will be able to manage internal and external filing deadlines and provide timely follow-up, identify process improvement opportunities, deal courteously and tactfully with a variety of internal and external client/customers. They’ll have experience maintaining calendar meetings and court deadlines, preparing drafts of correspondence and legal documents, and maintaining security of confidential information and materials. Preferred candidates will have familiarity with Legal Management Systems like Worldox and AccessData and will also have familiarity with the Idaho Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Prefer:

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience:

  • Four or more years experience in a law firm or in-house legal department. Advanced education that includes applicable coursework may be substituted for up to two years of experience.

Prefer:

  • Notary Public and experience in supporting legal transactions and litigation, particularly before state and federal administrative agencies. Basic understanding of business concepts.
