About you and this role

We are looking for you, an ambitiousbachelor's/master’s student,to support our Dow Construction Chemicals Business by doing an internship project or thesis inoptimization of organic emissions reduction technologyfor our location inBomlitz, Germany

The department that will welcome you is the MC plant from Dow Construction Chemicals. Dow Construction Chemicals is a world-class provider of tailor-made additives for the construction industry. Especially, our cellulose ethers, which are produced in high class plants in Bomlitz, are important to provide superior application performance. The Bomlitz site has more than 180 employees and operates three production facilities.

Project description

An important step in the cellulose ether production is the elimination of VOC from the exhaust air streams of our production facilities. Removal of reaction by-products and other unwanted VOCs is critical for the operation of our assets. Scope of the work is a systematic investigation of the existing technology including an analysis of future improvement options. This work will include the Aspen simulation of the existing plant as well as the identification of parameters for improvement. A strong collaboration with local and global Dow subject matter experts is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • You are currently studying for a bachelor's/master’s degree or equivalent in process engineering, chemical engineering or similar.

  • You have a good working knowledge of English. German is an advantage.

  • You have strong technological and computational skills, as well as interested to work practically in a laboratory.

Additional notes

You can start between July and September in 2024 for a period of 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
