State of Massachusetts Contracted Student Intern- Human Rights in Boston, Massachusetts

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking to hire an intern who will support its Human Rights Division in Central Office Boston.The Office for Human Rights is responsible for the protection of the Human Rights of all individuals receiving services and care with the Department.This Office also provides oversight and compliance of Human Rights State Statute(s), DMH Regulations and Policies, and other civil and constitutional rights, for all DMH operated, contracted and licensed facilities and programs statewide. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Intern will take the lead in updating, restructuring and reorganizing the DMH Human Rights Handbook. By collaborating with Central Office staff of all levels. * Work with management to reconstruct the Human Rights handbook. * Collaborate with subject matter experts to review the particular language in the Human Rights Handbook that pertains to their individualized areas of expertise. * Communicate with subject matter experts via emails, phone calls and meetings as necessary. * Update staff’s names, title and current dates to reflect the changes that are being made. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Ability to multi-task. * Proficient in Microsoft Office and Word document * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency _Period of Service:_May 28, 2024 through August 30, 2024 _Additional Information:_ * Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals. * All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit. * The salary for this position is $18 an hour. * Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. * Days Off: Saturday and Sunday _DMH Mission Statement:_ The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities.
