MassMutual Head of Financial Planning Enablement in Boston, Massachusetts
Responsible for the development and execution of key strategies to grow the Financial Planning Organization’s footprint in the field, and across the enterprise. Work across the Advice and Financial Planning & Practice Management team to drive simplification and enable capabilities that drive High Net Worth Client Acquisition, Net Flows, and growth through Practice Efficiencies.
The Team
As the needs of advisors and clients change and demand more wealth management and planning products and services, MM Wealth Management has greater needs to thoughtfully and effectively engage with our Field partners. Promote new and existing capabilities, products and services, and swiftly execute key initiatives that will positively impact advisors and clients resulting in growth. As a member of the Wealth Management organization, you will join our team of passionate experts across multiple disciplines including Product, Financial Planning, Practice Management, Lending & Banking, Trust, Investments and Operations.
The Impact
Lead the development of business strategy to identify, onboard and execute our new Financial Planning platform and business processes. Oversees the various development stages of the Financial Planning platform. Provides oversight throughout each stage, including planning, refinement, review, and execution of new systems. Communicate Financial Planning platform enhancement progress to key stakeholders and ensure change management practices are implemented for an effectively managed smooth transition through continuous improvements.
Enable a culture of continuous improvement designed to reduce customer pain points and empower employees to achieve and exceed team goals As a key member of the Advice & Financial Planning leadership team, develop, deliver and coach teams to achieve financial and resource planning department objectives. Coordinate efforts across Wealth Management and MMFA, collaborate with agency infrastructure, GAX and AAX committees and home office resources to continuously identify improvements through services, policy or platform enhancements to improve overall ease of doing business for Advice & Financial Planning. Serve as the main business point of contact and subject matter expert for ETX, Distribution Platform and Readiness for financial planning related platform enhancements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead the development of vision and mission for customer journey maps ensuring customer experience is at the forefront for product and technology development
Implement strategy practically and effectively, considering the impact of a wide range of internal realities and external forces that may impact the Financial Planning platform
Incorporate Financial Planning business strategies and objectives into broader initiatives by demonstrating an expertise in Wealth Management strategy
Lead communication efforts with internal Wealth Management and MMFA partners, and with the field on ease of business efforts to grow the Financial Planning business. Communicates with stakeholders regarding all major decisions and strategy providing clear instructions and deliverables regarding the Financial Planning advisor experience
Provide insight and guidance to Advice & Financial Planning team members, and training partners, to enhance, modernize and redesign existing required training. Ideates new approaches to support and implement Financial Planning Services through collaboration with the Distribution Platforms and Readiness team
Educate the field on upcoming changes to the financial planning advisor experience; partners to execute changes
Focuses on the evolving advisor needs and expectations as cornerstone to decisions regarding all business processes within financial planning services
Responsible for matrix management of staff, assigning tasks, managing workloads, and inspecting work efforts to ensure timely and effective delivery
Organizes and creates relevant materials for MMFA firms and infrastructure to enable adherence to the risk based supervisory framework.
Interfaces with Legal and Compliance on desired business outcomes to the Financial Planning platform in adherence to the MassMutual risk and governance models.
Gathers and curates best practices across the Field to ensure adoption of new technologies for the Financial Planning platform.
The Minimum Qualifications
B.A. in Business/Economics or other similar degree
Has obtained a CFP® designation.
8+ years’ experience in financial services
Series 7 & 63 Licensed
Experience in multi-department, enterprise-level initiatives
Successfully managed projects that touch, cross and/or impact multiple organizational areas
In depth knowledge of insurance products, distribution systems, and marketing concepts
In depth knowledge of financial services products and services
Ideal Qualifications
Experience in communicating and designing strategy with executives.
Has worked in both the Wealth Management and Insurance industries.
Effective leader in a matrixed organization.

Salary Range: $159,800.00-$209,700.00
