<p><strong>Software Engineering Manager, Fulfillment Optimization</strong></p>

<p>The Fulfillment Optimization team builds the platforms that determine how customer orders are fulfilled, optimizing for Wayfair profitability and customer delight. A big part of our work revolves around enhancing and scaling customer-facing platforms that provide fulfillment information on our websites, starting at the top of the customer funnel on the search pages through orders being delivered. Throughout this customer journey, we are responsible for maintaining an accurate representation of our dynamic supply chain, determining how different products will fit into boxes, predicting how these boxes will flow through warehouses and trucks, and ultimately surfacing the information our customers need to inform their decision and the details our suppliers and carriers require to successfully execute on the promises made to our customers. We do all of this in milliseconds, thousands of times per second.</p>
<p>We are looking for a seasoned and proactive technologist who is passionate about growing their teams, drives at high-impact problems, and can trade between technical and business outcomes. Knowledge about Supply chain management is a plus.</p>
<p>You will work in a global team, with on-premise and cloud-based deployments in an inclusive environment. </p>
<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage a team of 5 - 9 engineers focused on building the core optimization engine for Wayfair’s Supply Chain.</li>
<li>Own the output of the team both from a technical and performance perspective.</li>
<li>Mentor engineers in the team through training, coaching, code reviews, and 1:1 mentorship providing career and professional development for your staff.</li>
<li>Work with teams across the Fulfillment Optimization and the wider Wayfair’s Supply Chain Technology to enable your team’s outcomes</li>
<li>Accountable for the systems built by your team including technical design, development, test, monitoring, and deployment.</li>
<li>Engage your team to construct the technical roadmap and lead planning, delivery and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Partner with product on defining roadmaps and ensure the team has a compelling mission with well defined KPIs to measure progress and success.</li>
<li>Raise the bar from both a technical and process perspective.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>7+ years of software development experience with strong familiarity in at least one programming language (PHP, Python, .NET, Javascript, Java, etc.) and relational databases (SQL Server, postgres, mysql, etc). Experience with GCP or AWS is a plus.</li>
<li>4+ years of experience managing a high performing engineering team.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
<li>Proven track record of leading green field and maintaining legacy projects</li>
<li>Ability to think creatively and find opportunities in processes, code and architecture to improve</li>
<li>A collaborative approach to problem solving</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with design and product counterparts</li>
<li>Knowledge of the Supply chain industry is a plus.</li>
