Responsibilities
Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center is currently hiring a certified Therapist for the Expressive/Recreational Department.
Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. We are a proud provider of the Patriot Support Program.

The Expressive/ Recreational Therapist conducts the activities of recreation therapy in order to improve functioning and independence and to provide recreation resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well-being. Additionally, the Expressive/Recreation Therapist facilitates recreational therapy groups and organizes leisure programs.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Music, or Recreation therapyLicense/Certification: Must be certified in field of study.
CPR and Handle With Care (both to be completed during orientation if needed).Skills: Working knowledge of recreational therapy programming. Effective oral and written communication skills. Physical Requirements: Extensive sitting, standing, walking, reading, lifting over (50 lbs.) pounds and participation in active physical recreational program.
