Responsibilities You will maintain control of the supervisors' calendars, advising on daily appointments or conferences. You will obtain and provide background information on various subject matter and present information to supervisors prior to scheduled phone calls, visitors, or meetings using initiative and discretion. You will arrange for meetings and appointments that may involve a wide range of agency activities, other agencies, or a large segment of the public or business community beyond the supervisor's immediate organization. You will note commitments made during meetings, ensuring assignment to appropriate staff, with commitment dates, and track for completion in a timely manner. You will arrange for travel, schedule visits and reservations, create and review travel orders in the Defense Travel System, and assist in the completion of travel claims or travel vouchers. You will review, assess, issue and file technical information and records including process instructions, directives and correspondence according to appropriate guidelines. You will screen all mail addressed to the office, assign action dates to incoming correspondence and maintain a tickler system on actions assigned to or expected from staff. You will closely review correspondence or other action documents compiled by the staff for completeness, clarity of expression, format, adherence to stated office and shipyard policy, and grammatical correctness prior to presentation to supervisor. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the typing requirement: For GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support in an office setting using office automation and software systems for preparing documents and correspondence, scheduling appointments, and identifying and resolving administrative matters. For GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support in an office setting to include preparing, proofreading or editing correspondence, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, and answering phones.
