Robert Half has partnered with a private equity firm in Brentwood in their search for an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller. This role is hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end project accounting process, with a focus on milestone-based billings.

• Oversee the cash applications and cash receipts process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Conduct audits on multiple systems, verifying corresponding General Ledger activity in the ERP system.

• Handle month-end close activities, including making journal entries and reconciling balance sheets.

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.

• Optimize workflow processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Interact with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

• Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.

• Provide support during audit activities, ensuring all necessary documentation and information is available.

Requirements

• Proficiency in accounting functions and familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience with auditing processes and billing functions

• Knowledge and understanding of cash applications and unapplied cash

• Proficiency in balance sheet account reconciliation and credit card reconciliation

• Experience with journal entries and month-end close activities

• Familiarity with workflow processes and process improvement strategies

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software

• Understanding of private equity

• Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating leadership skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Accounting certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a managerial position.
