Brewton Housing Authority Maintenance Technician in Brewton, Alabama
[The Maintenance Technician performs skilled work that supports the efficient operation, upkeep and general maintenance/repair of buildings, facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, fixtures, and grounds for the Brewton Housing Authority properties. Requires basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical repair skills. Reports to the Executive Director.

Must be or become familiar with HUD policies, Housing Authority procedures and local ordinances.
Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service facilities, fixtures, equipment, structures, and property including but not limited to: floors, bathtubs, sinks, cabinets, walls, windows, screens, doors, hinges, locks, cabinets, closets, ventilation units, refrigerators, ranges, heating systems, air conditioners, fire extinguishers, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance functions.
Complete work orders for residential apartment repairs in a timely fashion coinciding with the work requested.
Monitor site deliveries
Understand and follow guidelines for safe handling of toxic and/or caustic chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Complete vacant units to make ready status according to established procedures.
Operate light trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
Commit to excellence in customer service.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident activity and information.
Understand and operate within company safety standards and policies.
Perform on-call duties as assigned for after-hours maintenance emergencies. Respond to and correct after-hours emergencies in a timely manner.
Work with vendors/contract laborers to ensure HUD regulations and agency standards are met.
Perform administrative duties such as processing work orders and preparing written forms for vehicle usage, gas, mileage, and inspections.
