Job Purpose:
The Production Manager reports to the Vice President of Program Management and Production and helps manage and deliver production activities to support Dynamic Aviation’s business needs and customer requirements and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met and improvement initiatives are pursued and achieved. Production activities include fabrication, component repair and overhaul, engine repair and overhaul, paint, and composite.
Job duties include:
Lead and direct assigned personnel in a way that fosters a collaborative and productive environment by providing clear direction; garnering input; conducting informal and formal performance reviews and feedback; and facilitating or scheduling required training or professional development opportunities.
Develop and maintain Resource Load Production Schedules to forecast and schedule resource availability (people/ space/ materials/ machines), anticipate constraints limiting production, and clearly communicate issues to leadership in a timely manner
Evaluate resource capacity/availability to minimize interruption and ensure continued production support
Set productivity and improvement goals for assigned teams, based on company and organizational KPIs
Improve productivity and efficiency while simultaneously ensuring all safety and health standards are met, quality is maintained, and manufacturing operational costs are reduced or moderated
Provide cost & schedule estimates with basis of estimate for proposal and planning activities
Develop & communicate workflow policies & procedures which enhance production activities
Exercise excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong project management skills
Demonstrate proven success in training employees about safety and production
Possess strong working knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
Build and maintain production schedules for assigned projects while monitoring and analyzing production schedule impacts to overall project schedules
Coordinate with managers, planners, team leads, and stakeholders to plan, execute, and optimize production efforts; coordinate updates; support production schedule variance reporting; resolve conflicts; and reduce risk to the project schedule and timeline
Summarize and present key information at scheduled production meetings
Participate in meetings to keep current on and forecast issues related to manufacturing, planning, new project kick-offs, metrics, and other related supply chain issues
Support Production Analyst with development of a master scheduler/planning database
Contribute to the development of weekly and monthly reports to communicate master production schedule and supporting operational project schedule performance
Support other functional teams within company in driving the adoption of continuous improvement practices and programs
Other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants will:
Possess a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering engineering or related field, or 6-10 years of relevant work experience
Have experience supervising or managing in a manufacturing or production environment
Be able to build trust with internal and external customers while communicating expectations and status updates in a professional and timely manner
Be able to learn and effectively use Microsoft Office products and various computer programs for time/record keeping and travel/expense reporting
Possess strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, able to accurately relay information across all levels and across all functions and departments within the company and its customers
Able to read and understand technical data (Scopes of Work, Proposal Documentation, Engineering Drawings, etc.)
Demonstrate strong working Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Able to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Exceptional candidates will:
Have Supply Chain experience
Will be familiar with or have expertise in Microsoft Project Scheduling and Pentagon ERP system
Have knowledge of or expertise in AS9100, Lean, and Daily Management GEMBA concepts/systems
