Role Overview

Civitanavi Systems UK Limited is establishing a unique capability in the UK for the assembly and test of opto-electronics components and systems. Technicians that are skilled in the assembly of, for instance, precision instruments, sensors, encoders or other highly compact and precise systems are required to create this capability.  It will be heavily based on the process, techniques and implementation currently in production in our Italian headquarters.

You will be key to the creation of this facility and your skills and ideas will be listened to and valued.  You will work alongside experienced technicians that will ultimately handover the responsibility to you.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have most of the following skills and characteristics.

  • Ideally qualified to a nationally acknowledged standard in a relevant instrumentation or electrical/electronic discipline.

  • Be able to demonstrate practical experience in the assembly of miniature electronic components & systems. Which will include hand soldering at component level and cabling.

  • Would ideally have some knowledge of optical component assembly.

  • Demonstrate practical experience in the fault-finding and repair of electrical & electronic equipment (i.e. using typical diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters & oscilloscopes).

  • Demonstrate practical experience in the testing of electrical & electronic equipment.

  • The ability to read & interpret technical diagrams, schematics and process flows.

  • A detailed and methodical approach, with the flexibility to adapt to changing situations and requirements.

  • A drive to create high quality systems.

  • Practically orientated and capable of contributing to the technical approach used to achieve the customer objectives.

  • PC Skills including MS Office.
