CAMBA Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources (HR) Department in Brooklyn, New York

CAMBA’s Human Resources (HR) Department manages all aspects of human resources such as employee benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, performance management and training and development.

Position: Human Resources Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Talent Management

Location: 1720 Church Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11226/ Hybrid Remote

What The Human Resources Coordinator Does:

  • Talent Management Operations

  • Respond to designated HR emails and ensure timely and accurate response to all inquiries

  • Process employment verification requests and prepare employment letters, forms,  and other correspondence as requested

  • Respond to requests for employee information from NYS Unemployment Insurance carrier

  • Ensure processing of garnishments including notification to employee, DTM, VPHR and Payroll department

  • Generate communications to staff regarding salary increases, status changes, payouts, bonuses, etc. as necessary and appropriate.

  • Update data in HRIS and run reports as needed

  • Compliance and File Maintenance

  • Maintain electronic personnel files and ensure compliance with applicable requirement and conduct internal audits as necessary.

  • Respond to requests for employee information from various regulations and/or programs.

  • Assist with review and preparation of employee files for various internal and external audits, and produce as necessary.

  • Assists with coordination and tracking of provider and licensed credentials – e.g. Professional Licenses, certificates, etc.  Ensure they are up to date, and run reports as needed.

  • Maintains driving records through LENS DMV – communicate to DTM & VPHR of any employee eligibility issues or alerts generated from the system.

  • Offboarding Activities

  • Support the employee separation/offboarding process in partnership with HR Team and CAMBA’s programs.

  • Send IT Termination notice of exiting employee and facilitate return of equipment to IT as appropriate

  • Send out resignation acceptance emails and send out separations notifications to EE’s including exit interview email.

  • Terminate EE’s from any required portals per regulatory requirements – including but not limited to fingerprints, SCR, DOH/PETS, DOE, DCJS, OMH, OCA, Exclusion List Vendor, LENS DMV, and HRIS.

  • Onboarding Support

  • In collaboration with programs & onboarding team, support onboarding of Interns & other temporary staff as assigned.

  • Serve as back-up for other HR Onboarding team members when out of the office or as needed.

  • Create ID’s for new hires or replacements as needed.

  • Other Administrative Functions

  • Assist with check requests for any TM or HR related expenses.

  • Assists in other HR departmental and organizational projects as needed and as assigned.

  • Support with the development and implementation of new HR programs, procedures and initiatives

  • Other duties and projects, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven success in delivering an exceptional candidate experience.

  • Strong customer-service orientation, ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and desire to deliver end to end solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual Skills preferred.

Compensation: $45,000 annually

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization. 

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
