Payroll Specialist (71101)Location: Brooklyn, NYDescription:Pratt Institute is seeking a detailed-oriented Payroll Specialist with strong analytical skills and exemplary customer service skills to join the Controller's Office team. As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining assigned payrolls. If you can plan and deliver high-quality skills to a diverse population and the handling of a multi-million-dollar payroll, then we want to hear from you! Key Essential Duties include the following: Process payrolls assigned for our: Facilities Management and Public Safety officers on a weekly basis.Part-time faculty on a semi-monthly basis.Administrative staff and students on a bi-weekly basis.Full-time faculty on a monthly basis. UtilizePaylocity (our online payroll), Kronos (time & attendance), Colleague, Docuware, and NextGen software (student employment systems) to process and resolve issues.Maintain Excel spreadsheets to track payroll information including new hires, terminations, salary, and budgets. Work closely with Human Resources and other campus departments responsible for submitting information pertaining to payroll actions. Perform all other related duties as required. Qualifications:Education: Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business Management required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience and Skills:Must have a minimum of 2 years of general accounting and payroll experience including knowledge of General Ledger Accounts and practices.Experience with integrated accounting systems as well as web-based Payroll, Time and Attendance, and related software required; demonstrate knowledge of Paylocity, Colleague, Kronos, Nextgen, and Docuware strongly preferred.The ideal candidate will have an understanding of union payroll procedures. Advanced Excel ability including proficiency with pivot tables and V-Lookup formulas is required.Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat, and demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds are essential. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $58,500-58,500.
