Join our team! Asa Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise toresearch, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improvecutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex systemarchitectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them fromoperational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation,and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you arein charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through thepSierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison,Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center,Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites,propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and componentsfor the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers andinternationaMust-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline andtypically 10 or more years of relevant experienceDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsThorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirementsparsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systemsintegration, technical risk identification and management strategies, andVerification and Validation (V&V) principlesPreferred:Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools,such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLABKnowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include,but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering(MBSExperience or certification in INCOSE standardsBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryExperience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex developmentsetting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measuresThorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical PerformanceMeasurements (TPM)The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicantmust be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtainthe required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S.DepartmenWith 30+ years of proven spaceflight heritage, Sierra Space has providedmore than 4,000 space systems, subsystems and components to customersworldwide, and participated in more than 500 missions to space, includingto Mars.
