Role Summary: Plan, coordinates and directs quality control programs on manufacturing floor designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established customer requirements. Works closely with Manufacturing and Project Engineering
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide the necessary dimensional support as it relates to quality rejects, PPMs, defect analysis, control plans, FMEAs, and process flow charts.
Monitors warranty reporting per customer web sites and reports to upper management
Maintains and updates quality documentation, including but not limited to CP, FMEA, Flow, Auditor Manuals, Operator Manuals, Receiving Logs and Instructions for all products.
Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving on the production floor.
Drive Internal quality control requirements
Work with Manufacturing to ensure all necessary paperwork for each program is accurate, in place and understood by the team
Performs internal, layered process, and manufacturing process audits and facilitates dock audit schedule per customer requirements.
Enter, evaluate, provide direction on capability studies, as necessary.
Enter, evaluate, provide direction on gauge R&Rs, as necessary.
Assist with RPN/Action Priority reduction based on lessons learned through continuous improvement activities
Ensure supply base meets ITW Powertrain’s expectations including tooling, equipment, and purchased component suppliers
Perform new supplier assessment as required
PPAP submissions
Ensure purchased component suppliers systems meet ITW Powertrain’s expectations and endorse continuous improvement
Manage activities related to supplier development from launch through production
Assist in audits of all new tooling and equipment suppliers
Ensure that quality standards are followed as it relates to tooling and equipment automotive guidelines
Maintain all supplier certifications and maintain quality status reporting
Provide direction and assistance to support facility personnel on supplier related issues.
Responsible for closure on all supplier issues as they relate to corrective actions, ECNs, PPAPs, certifications, quality requirements, and supplier chargebacks
Perform responsible administrative work requiring independent judgement with speed and accuracy for the Quality Manager or other designated staff
Actively participates in new program launches utilizing the APQP process to fulfill quality related responsibilities that support successful launch of new programs.
Responsible for adherence to the company quality, environmental, and safety policy, procedures, and job instructions, as applicable.
Responsible for providing direction within facility for maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards as applicable.
Perform other duties as directed by the quality manager
Experience:
3-5 years of manufacturing experience in roles of Quality, Engineering or Managerial
Strong communications skills both written and verbal
Computer Skills – MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Root cause analysis techniques
Good measuring skills
Able to read a blueprint and differentiate colors
Must be able to work in a team or individual environment
Self-motivated individual
Must have the ability to pay attention to detail
Must be able to work a flexible shift, including overtime and weekends
