About the scope

Diageo Corporate has a cost base of £800m that is spread across different corporate functions, locations and accounting systems.

Efficient use of this spend requires information to be readily available to many individuals in a variety of formats as well as effective management and control of the overall financial control environment.

As Corporate is a Global function, costs can arise in virtually every market in Diageo so this is truly a global role.

An adequate overview of the different activities/departments is required such as:

  • Global Diageo reporting process

  • Global Corporate functional activities

  • General Accounting / RtR team activities

The role leads a team of 4 direct reports. With an efficient utilization of the team, the person coordinates the FP&A process for the Corporate ‘region’ and plays a leadership role in developing the processes and ways of workings. Besides, the person will also provide support to the Head of Corporate FP&A and functional (business) partners with regards to structural changes and budget transfers to ensure a fluid transformation process.

About the role

  • Lead and coordinate FP&A processes such as planning, reporting and O&R for the Corporate Function are and supervise certain central Corporate areas

  • Lead and manage central Corporate FP&A team

  • Coordinate the FP&A process including Annual Plan, monthly Actuals, Opportunities and Risks for cash and working capital, to achieve timely and quality submission as per the timeline

  • Ensure that queries from business partners are dealt promptly and courteously;

  • Support the process of business transformations for the Corporate region

  • Take on holistic roles across the Corporate Finance team such as supporting the Head of Corporate FP&A in the coordination of Corporate planning and O&R exercise, assisting in various business transformation projects and Group level initiatives which has an impact on the Corporate region.

About you

  • Degree educated in relevant finance / accounting/ business

  • 5 years’ experience in controlling area coupled with people management and business partnering

  • Proven FP&A knowledge with experience in cost controlling

  • Experience working within an international / multicultural environment

  • Strong analytical skills to be able to see and understand the big picture and deliver high level message, offering alternative solutions for issues

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills who maintain strong connection with key business partners

  • Customer focus with ability to effectively priorities issues and build on knowledge and experience when making decisions in own area of responsibility

  • Proficient English knowledge

  • Qualified accountant
