About the role

The immediate and primary focus of this role is to support both the development and delivery of an aligned strategic business and end to end people agenda for the assigned organizations. This will involve challenge and development of new ways of working rather than transposing existing policies, processes and practices. Support the development and execution of the strategic and operational people plan, including organizational design, culture creation and maintenance, policies and practices for resourcing, developing capability, industrial & employee relations and reward.

Job Dimensions

The Senior HR Business Partner is accountable for the support of a large operational area and / or cross location(s) and is a key member of the HR and Extended Leadership teams with collective responsibility for the holistic performance. This role is responsible for coaching, developing, and advising assigned client groups and direct reports and junior members of the HR Business Partner team.

Performance Management

  • Briefs and coaches the appropriate business unit’s managers about processes, deadlines, provides guidelines, trainings as appropriate. Enables junior level HR Business Partners to be a competent support for Level 6 and Level 5 population

  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (e.g. coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Proactively supports line managers in managing a consistent and accurate year end compensation review process

  • Identifies and solves complex performance related issues

Talent development

  • Assists and coaches line managers in identifying right candidates for the talent process

  • Supports the development planning and training delivery activities together with the line managers and the L&D team

  • Ensures robust retention and succession plans are in place and necessary actions are followed through together with the line managers and the Talent / L&D teams

HR administration

  • Ensures that relevant HR processes (i.e. internal moves, international assignments etc.) are compliant with internal CARM requirements

  • Ensures data accuracy and consistency in trackers

  • Identifies gaps and improvement areas in relation to HR processes and drives change end to end change process

Client relationship building

  • Develops positive working relationships with managers, senior leaders within the organization both internally and externally

  • Conducts recurring meetings with respective business units

  • Works closely with management and employees to build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Analyses trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies

  • Advises and coaches managers on people related issues

  • Understands clients business priorities and supports managers to meet them

  • Acts as an integrated and essential part of the relevant business unit and creates synergy

  • Ensures policies applied consistently across the different business units

  • Contributes to the recruitment activities of senior members as required by the supported business

  • Contributes to the amendment and creation of policies based on input from relevant business

  • Provides advice and guidance to business leaders on HR policies and practices

  • Represents team to both internal and external audiences

  • Executes and accountable for major projects and/or initiatives aiming to achieve improved people engagement, improved HR function (including efficiency) and/or higher customer satisfaction

  • Plans and supervises projects and processes, including resource co-ordination and progress tracking for own work area or team

Employee relations

  • Supports HRD and ER Head with employee forums as required

  • Advises, supports and coaches line managers on any employment law / rights issues, including disciplinary, grievance and absence cases etc

  • Maintains in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal department

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations

  • Manages individual ER cases, ensuring early and appropriate action is taken to mitigate risk of reputational damage

  • Ensures operation is compliant with Diageo employer values

What you will bring

  • Fluent Hungarian and English language knowledge

  • 6+ years general business experience with full knowledge of business service area of specialization

  • Minimum of 6 years HR Business Partner experience preferable at a strategic level

  • Sound knowledge of Hungarian Labor Law

  • Proactive attitude

  • Strong client focus; ability to build relationships at various levels within the organization; exceptional stakeholder management and advisory skills

  • Results driven, demonstrating a sense of urgency and commitment to delivering customer requirements and team objectives

  • Very strong influencing skills

  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast paced environment

  • A self starter who can work autonomously

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and initiatives and solve complex problems

  • Demonstrated experience in change management: articulating the business case for change, evaluating change readiness, building and executing stakeholder plans and transition activities and managing sustained change and transition

  • Ability to embrace change and accept new challenges and responsibilities as they arise
