Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the industry of telecom services, based in Buffalo, New York. This role requires an organized individual to step into the role of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor. Your main function will be to manage the accounting functions of the company, including preparing financial statements, coordinating the monthly close process, and supervising the accounting function of various entities.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently observe safety and security procedures, and report potentially unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

• Prepare monthly AR reserving, bad debt entries, and compare reports.

• Coordinate the monthly close process and review accountants' analysis for accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare various schedules for annual tax returns and present to senior management.

• Coordinate the annual audit and preparation of audited financial statements.

• Oversee the preparation of the annual operating budget for the Foundations and Other entities.

• Supervise the Foundation accounting function and review quarterly board reports for presentation to the Foundation Board of Directors.

• Prepare annual pension plan financial statements.

• Oversee the monthly reporting for the 340B drug program.

• Supervise, train, and evaluate accountants.

• Provide financial analysis as required. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the accounting field.

• Thorough understanding and proficiency in accounting functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting, general ledger, and budgeting.

• Demonstrated skills in auditing, with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.

• Experience with month-end close procedures and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other related computer applications.

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound financial decisions.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• detail oriented certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred.

• Must have a keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
