The Maintenance Technician provides mechanical and electrical support to the Pirson manufacturing facility and reports to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager. This position is key for the site to achieve its financial objectives through maintaining safety, quality and production as needed. In addition helping in identification and prevention of system failures through preventative and predictive measures.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely maintain and repair process and facility mechanical and electrical systems

  • Safely use power tools, hand tools and proper PPE in daily duties

  • Capable of safely operating a fork-lift or aerial lift

  • Review, generate and complete work order assignments utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Responds to production requests for maintenance (Reactive Maintenance) in a timely manner and communicates progress to the management as an integral part of the team

  • Maintain applicable logs, records, equipment history folders and maintenance manuals in an accurate and comprehensive manner

  • Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance activities and assist in creation and maintenance of associated documentation

  • Generate corrective maintenance work orders based on findings from PM work and safety inspections

  • Perform any reasonable request to ensure safety, quality and production needs are met

  • This job can require emergency call in and off shift availability

  • Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off - 12 hr shifts.

Pay Range:

  • $19.74/hr - $31.00/hr

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree with trades concentration, certificates of completion

  • 5+ year’s relevant experience in manufacturing industrial maintenance or industrial technology role and/or Industrial Trades Schooling, military training applicable to maintenance of equipment

Required Skills – Mechanical:

  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend technical specification with respect to equipment installation and operation, clearance checks, interference fits, lubrication, torque requirements etc.

  • Experience with repairing industrial manufacturing equipment

  • Welding, cutting, rigging, pneumatics, pipe fitting

  • Diagnostic capability to solve problems and drive to root cause of failures

  • Basic knowledge of lubrication principles

  • Basic knowledge of boilers and HVAC processes and inspections

  • Demonstrated 5 year’s experience in LOTO protocols, safely working at height and confined space

    Preferred Skills – Mechanical:

  • OSHA 10hr, 30hr credentials

  • Machining experience

  • Roller hearth kiln experience

  • Advanced HVAC experience

    Required Skills - Electrical

  • Able to safely troubleshoot AC/DC voltage systems up to 480V

  • Able to safely unwire and rewire motors, actuators and servo drives

  • Perform a variety of electrical/mechanical tests to determine root cause of issues

  • Make necessary electrical installations and/or repairs

  • Ability to safely use a multimeter to diagnose defects

  • NFPA 70E training and certification

    Preferred Skills - Electrical

  • Experience utilizing a HART communicator for calibrations

  • Experience with PLCs and ladder logic
