The Engineering team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to apply and expand their experience in industrial hardware and system design, analysis, documentation, and integration of non-destructive test equipment.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Will typically lead engineering projects through project management, interfacing heavily with other departments within the organization, and will have the ability to identify and communicate any issues that may impact them.

  • Will be responsible for solving challenging technical problems with innovative solutions that meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.

  • Will apply their expertise at all phases of the product life cycle, including requirements analysis, concept definition, prototyping, testing, detailed design, and production

  • Will be expected to present design solutions and analysis during internal and external design reviews, document the design through drawing generation and release, provide factory and supplier support, and support change incorporations.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are required for success in all phases of the role.

  • Regularly generate creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Self-manage and use a high level of detail to create design models, layouts, assemblies, and detail drawings under aggressive project deadlines.

  • Prepare formal design reviews of solutions and present them to management and other departments.

  • Comply with regulatory and quality requirements for radiography equipment and medical devices.

  • Create drawings and documentation to support part and system specifications for an array of projects.

  • Hands-on assembly, test, and troubleshooting of prototype designs.

  • Lead the resolution of critical customer and/or product issues.

  • Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to company established specifications and standards and act as advisor and checker for other engineers.

  • Work in a team environment that encourages respectfully receiving and giving constructive criticism.

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of related experience in engineering with a mechanical or materials focus.

  • 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks.

  • Knowledge of material properties.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal, casting, and machine drawing specifications.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision, take charge of projects, and work effectively in a demanding, regulated environment.

  • Able to assemble facts from various sources, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management

  • Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Manufacturing experience and analytical acumen.

  • Detailed knowledge of drafting standards and application of tolerances.

  • Experience preparing ECOs.

  • Experience within NDT industry preferred.

  • Occasional Travel (<5%).

  • Excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer, and demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
