The Director, Planning collaborates with merchant partners to understand market trends, achieve sales and profit objectives for several merchandise categories. This responsibility includes overseeing the development and successful execution of detailed financial plans, assortment/buy plans, merchandise allocation and other planning strategies.

Responsibilities:
* Develop Pre-season and manage In-season forecasts

  • Develop department targets to meet executive financial goals

  • Leads the development of Category level plans while overseeing Department/Chain/Class/Season/Month Sales, Inventory and Gross Margin plans

  • Leads the development of the Pre-Season Region and Store plans at the class/month level

  • Prepares action plan summaries and participates in the presentation of seasonal plans to the executive team

  • Drives the analysis of the system generated forecasts to identify regional sales opportunities and risks

  • Accountable for development and execution of regional flow strategies

  • Partners with New Store and Total Store teams to align on location strategies

  • Oversees analysis of sales and margin trend

  • Manages opportunities to shift dollars across months and products

  • Accountable for plan updates ensuring alignment to corporate guidance

  • Reviews and approves markdowns and recommends price change strategies

  • Demonstrates high professional and personal standards

  • Resolves challenges in a proactive and decisive manner

  • Creates an environment where people are encouraged to reach their full potential

  • Focuses on associate engagement and development

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of Merchandise Planning experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing various levels of associates.
