Posting Summary
The research MRI Healthcare Professional is flexible in their duties and proactively contributes to the patient care, teaching, and research missions of the MRI Center for Biomedical Imaging and UVM Medical Center MRI division of the Department of Radiology.
Provides specialized operation of magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI ) equipment and imaging protocol design to the UVM research community. The research MRI Healthcare Professional will work in conjunction with the core facility physicist, study investigators, radiologists, clinical and research staff to develop, critique and implement scanning protocols on a state-of-the-art 3T research MRI scanner. The position is responsible for the safe operation of the 3T magnet and functional MRI paradigm equipment, scan sequence design and implementation, and safety of research participants and users of the facility. Adapts to changes is technology, new imaging techniques, and safe and effective imaging of patients with medical implants. The research MRI Healthcare Professional assists with UVM Medical Center patients that are imaged on UVM research 3T scanner and performs research imaging procedures using sophisticated MRI technology. Reports to the administrative director, medical director, and the scientific director of the MRI Center for Biomedical Imaging.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree with two – four years of research and progressive MRI experience required. Graduate of an approved ARRT program ( CAHEA / JRCT ) with advanced certification in MRI . ARRT (MR) certification and CPR certification required. Bi-annual CE requirements to maintain certification. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in cross-sectional anatomy is required. Verification of a college transcript required.
Desirable Qualifications
Research MRI experience is desirable. MRI technologist experienced with
working with 3T scanner (preferably Philips) desirable.Cardiac and multidirectional
diffusion ( DTI ), and fMRI experience desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range $50,000 to $60,000/year
Other Information
Variable shifts as needed including: Every Saturday, evening, and overnight shifts. Verification of a college transcript is required. Please be prepared to provide a copy should you be invited for an interview.
Special Conditions Weekend work required, Non-standard work hours required, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, 2nd and/or 3rd shift, This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position
