Our collaborative project team is seeking a Construction Area Lead to oversee, coordinate and manage all onsite construction activities for a number of Contractors working on an operational facility for an exciting project in Delta, BC. The Area Lead will work in close collaboration with the Construction Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

· Coordinating contractor’s daily work activities,

· Planning site use in conjunction with other contractors and site operations,

· Resolving contractors’ questions, and participate in resolution of design issues.

· Managing contractors performance of the work in line with the contract requirements

· You’ll have knowledge of the project and construction progress across all trades/scopes of work, develop and communicate a project work plan and, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan.

·  Prepare daily/weekly/monthly construction progress updates and construction summary reports and coordinate, document, and attend meetings

· Review of the construction contractor’s submittals and shop drawings, as required 

· Provide interpretation of drawings, specifications, and other design related documentation

· Coordinate and document on-site inspection and monitoring of construction work, including Quality Assurance Monitoring and Testing

· Review site inspection and test reports 

· Monitor and maintain accurate records (including daily photographs) of construction contractor’s progress and performance 

· Document resolution of issues that arise during construction 

·  Prepare meeting notes to document each meeting and any issues and actions

· Monitor construction contractor compliance with permit conditions. 

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • High School Diploma

  • 10 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale buildings/rehabilitation projects

  • 4 years of this experience as an Assistant Superintendent on large scale, multi-contract buildings projects

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building required

  • Construction management experience on >$50M industrial projects

  • Work will require access to secure facilities and employment will be dependent on clearing a criminal background check

The base salary range for this position is $83,800 to $109,950. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
