Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Shift Manager Maintenance in Burns Harbor, Indiana
Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Maintenance at our Burns Harbor, Indiana operation. The Shift Manager Maintenance is responsible for supervising and providing work direction to hourly union employees. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations. The current opening has multiple openings in the plant.
Summary of Responsibilities
Supervise and direct hourly employees.
Assign manpower and equipment as necessary to repair and upgrade mill equipment.
Direct both planned preventative maintenance activities and work through equipment breakdown scenarios.
Implement the safety program’s goals to ensure a safe work environment.
Identify problems, gather the appropriate information, and analyze them effectively.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.
2-5 years supervising maintenance employees in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Analytic skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills.
Work in a 24/7 environment that includes working rotating shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in a union environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance and mobile equipment repair.
