POSITION:           Full-Time Maintenance Associate LOCATION:         Bentley Community School District

DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:  Bentley Community Schools is a thriving K-12 school district located in the City of Burton, Michigan. We serve approximately 715 students across three schools, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our facilities team as a full-time maintenance associate.   RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on school buildings and grounds, including:
    • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
    • Basic electrical systems
    • Basic plumbing systems
    • Carpentry repairs
    • Lock and door maintenance
    • Custodial needs as assigned
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors
  • Perform seasonal mowing and snow removal
  • Maintain athletic fields
  • Assist with furniture assembly and movement
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance concerns to supervisor
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:                                    

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in building maintenance or related field
  • Working knowledge of various maintenance trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive work ethic
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record preferred
