Machine/Maintenance Mechanic
Summary of Responsibilities: The Maintenance Mechanic, under minimum supervision, repairs and maintains facility and production equipment systems.
Essential Functions: -Repairs, cleans, lubricates and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as tag and label presses, motors, pumps, belts, etc. -Produces new, replacement parts in making repairs of mechanical equipment, using lathes, mills, surface grinders, welders, torches, drill presses, etc. -Performs preventative maintenance and repairs. -Maintains production and time records, as required. -Maintains high quality standards, as required. -Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required, e.g. performing janitorial tasks and work area housekeeping.
Qualifications: -Knowledge: Working knowledge of machine and mechanical repairs and maintenance. -Experience: Five years performing machinist and maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment. -Able to perform precision hand fitting of mechanical parts such as punches, dies, hand scraping of plain bearings. Must maintain tight tolerances.
Skills/Aptitude:
-Good analytical and problem solving skills; mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings and specifications.
-Possess a valid NYS Drivers License is required.
Working Conditions:
-Plant, office and warehouse.
-Exposure to high noise levels is present.
-Occasional climbing up to 25 feet and bending, crawling in tight spaces and lengthy periods of standing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. are required.
-Occasional overtime is required.
