When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re seeking an emerging Environmental Project Manager to oversee projects for municipal and private industry clients based in Canada. You’ll apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team.

Based out of one of our Alberta offices, you’ll have the opportunity to work on environmental projects across the country. You will manage project teams that include junior field and reporting staff, senior technical consultants, and technical subject matter experts, with support from Jacobs internal management, to deliver a variety of environmental projects. Most projects will include field sampling elements (groundwater, soil, well installation, etc.) and compliance with permit requirements. All projects need to be delivered with high safety, compliance, and quality standards expected by both Jacobs and our clients.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or other closely related technical degree.

  • Demonstrated technical evaluation and writing skills.

  • Professional environmental project experience, including permitting, conducting site investigations/characterizations, and subcontractor oversight at the project manager level (preferably in consulting).

  • Experience as a project manager dealing with all aspects of project delivery, including project tracking of budgets and schedule.

  • Experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing field investigation work plans and quality assurance project plans.

  • Proven experience developing winning proposals and successfully managing projects with respect to clients, contracts, stakeholders, scope, schedule, budget, diverse teams, quality, risk, change, and profit.

  • Specific training, knowledge, and experience necessary to identify goals and objectives, and develop, review, and implement various project delivery strategies and plans.

  • Proven organizational, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Professional Engineer or Geoscientist, or Project Management Professional (P.E., P.Geo, or PMP) Ontario designation or ability to obtain and maintain.

  • Experience with project and account management tools and applications, such as cost pricing, project tracking, and customer account relationship tools.

  • Experience supervising staff including managing performance reviews and career growth plans.

  • Demonstrated track record in client relations and in positioning for, winning, and delivering successful projects in Alberta and the surrounding provinces.
