CyrusOne Account Director in California

The Account Director is responsible for maintaining existing, run-rate business within Cloud/International accounts, with an emphasis on uncovering and developing new opportunities within those accounts and growing overall account revenue. They will also be responsible for opening new Cloud accounts and building relationships that result in new revenue.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish a deep working knowledge of the named account(s) and existing business

  • Manage complex technical sales with highly varied business applications

  • Create, maintain and execute a Major Account Plan with the Global Account Manager

  • Look to uncover new revenue streams in Cloud Accounts through wider coverage and creation of “sell-with” and “sell-through” programs focusing on Cloud sales teams

  • Develop customer presentations and participate in customer meetings

  • Establish and coordinate quarterly business reviews with customers

  • Consistently achieve targeted sales quota

Minimum Requirements:

  • Major Account management experience (3 years minimum)

  • Excellent presentation and verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be able to set goals and develop a business plan

  • Must be self-motivated and activity/performance driven

  • Must be able to learn the solution sales cycle

  • Must be able to effectively use sales automation tools, applications software and equipment to manage the sales/service process

  • Must be willing to learn and adapt as new products are developed


  • This position requires 3-5 years successful sales experience

  • Enterprise sales/Major Account management targeting Fortune 500 size accounts

  • Solution sales (infrastructure, collocation, managed services or professional services) experience required

  • Proven successful sales experience in an IT or Telecom sales environment

  • Previous experience selling to C-level decision makers

  • Strong knowledge of IT industry with experience with Cloud/Web-scale accounts a plus

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field (equivalent work-related experience may be substituted for degree) is required.

Physical and Mental requirements: Must be available for business travel as needed.

Work environment: The work environment is an office setting with moderate office noise.
