We now seek a talented person who is passionate about the role of Event and Project Management, to lead our Cambridge Sports and Social Club, Charity and Volunteer programme. We need a great ‘people person’ with high energy and enthusiasm who is highly organised and adaptable.

Delivering our engagement, collaboration, and culture programme to drive a sense of belonging across our Cambridge community will bring plenty of challenges for our teams and departments. You’ll be working with leaders, teams and staff across the business, using your communication acumen with multiple senior stakeholders, internally and externally.

This role is offered on a 9 month fixed term contract.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver our Campus Leadership Team engagement programme.

  • Develop and manage execution of project plans - including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality and ensure tracking of the project delivering on time and on budget.

  • Manage an Event Coordinator, sharing best practice and ensuring targets are met.

  • Be responsible for partnering with communications teams to create and socialise our identity.

  • Be responsible for marketing and promotion materials.

  • Deliver events on time and within budget.

  • Communicate, maintain and develop client relationships.

  • Manage supplier relationships.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and quality delivery.

  • Liaise and partner with external venue and events suppliers.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Project Management – identify opportunities to connect engagement activities and lead projects and events to successful delivery, within budget.

  • Challenge the status quo - act proactively and drive continuous improvement.

  • Commerciality – you will need to ensure the sports & social club is successful.

  • Flexibility - adaptable and highly collaborative.

  • Communication – excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Time Management – deliver multiple projects simultaneously to time, cost, quality.

  • Relationship Management – internal and external supplier relationship management.

We are looking for a candidate with relevant expertise and experience, but more importantly a change agent who challenges, works with an agile, positive, solution focused mind-set and has the ability to think differently and make things happen.

This role is based across our Cambridge campus, so travel between sites will be required.
