    Job Description

SENIOR ADVISOR, Office of the President, to provide executive-level support to the presidential advisor, science and technology policy as a strategist, consultant, analyst, and implementer. Will work collaboratively with senior staff to support and execute initiatives that the presidential advisor is moving forward; initiate and foster internal and external alliances and partnerships; coordinate with the MIT Washington Office on campus-DC interactions and with Resource Development in support of fundraising priorities; work with relevant staff to manage agendas and materials for meetings, speaking engagements, etc. to ensure that the presidential advisor has all necessary information to support discussion points; manage special research and writing projects and prepare press releases and a variety of other communications; gather and analyze information to prepare potential solutions and recommendations; anticipate issues, troubleshoot, and suggest alternate approaches; and represent the presidential advisor’s interests on committees and task forces with visitors, students, and faculty. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least seven years of experience in higher education administration, policy development, or a related field; project management experience; a collaborative and inclusive approach to building strategic and collaborative relationships at all levels; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; and discretion with confidential information. Must be able to manage ambiguity, prioritize multiple time-sensitive demands in a rapidly changing environment, demonstrate leadership and strategic planning, anticipate future opportunities, and prepare and present complex information effectively to an executive-level audience. PREFERRED: master’s degree or Ph.D. and broad knowledge of the Institute. Job #24099-13 5/31/24
