We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic professional to join our Contracts & Supply Chain organisation to deliver commercial support to our corporate functions through the development and management of our corporate agreements.

Corporate agreements are the foundation of arrangements with suppliers for the supply of goods and services that meet operational business requirements across common commodity categories and for unique business requirements. They drive efficiency in the procurement of goods and services and provide a platform for simplified procurement activities with specific suppliers.

In this role you will partner with stakeholders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused advice to ensure that corporate agreements meet the stakeholders needs and effectively manage risk. You will be required to undertake procurement processes to identify and engage potential suppliers, select the preferred supplier, prepare commercial agreements, negotiate the agreement, and provide ongoing contract and relationship management of the supplier. You will also be required to conduct contract term reviews and provide advice on different types of commercial agreements.

To effectively perform this role you will need to have solid experience and knowledge of the legal requirements of commercial agreements, and experience in drafting and advising on terms and conditions. You will also be required to exercise a high level of business acumen and relationship management to deliver effective performance across the organisation’s corporate agreements to achieve our short and long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and lead the approach to managing corporate commercial agreements across the business, identifying opportunities to develop and leverage strategic supplier relationships.

  • Implement procurement activities to identify preferred suppliers.

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements and identify any potential commercial risks and develop and implement solutions.

  • Ensure that all agreements accurately capture and reflect requirements and any changes are addressed with internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure all commercial agreements are consistent with company policies and objectives, accurately reflects the agreement of the parties, the scope of work and acceptance criteria.

  • Ensure that all agreements are appropriately managed.

  • Provide interpretation and advice on policy, regulations, contract requirements and terms and conditions, to inform decision-making and proactively manage compliance.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law or significant demonstrated experience in Contract Law.

  • Strong commercial negotiation skills and effective business relationship-building abilities.

  • Understanding of import and export requirements, including the Defence Trade Control Act and US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
