Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs nursing skills encompassing patient care and relative tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Provides a safe, quiet, comfortable environment for patient, visitors, and employees.Demonstrates accountability for job responsibility and functions.

Provides direct quality care and service to patients of all ages under the directions of the Unit Manager/designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: CNA preferred. BLS certification for health care provider within 3 months and recertification annually.

Work Experience: Recent experience as a nurse aide, phlebotomist, or EKG technician preferred.

Physical & Other Factors: On feet most of the day. Must be able to assist in lifting and positioning patients and moving equipment.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
