Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$124,600.00 - $205,700.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Under broad oversight, responsible for ownership of the Auto/Transportation discipline, including staff and skill development of Specialists, Regional Specialists, and core RC consultants as it relates to our assessment, service and product development business needs. Works with field leadership across the enterprise to align technical and/or consulting services that support defined business strategies, assessment methodologies, and support line of business and program underwriting reviews. Responsible for monitoring emerging issues that relate to the discipline, and developing timely solutions for internal and external partners. Works with marketing and communications groups to define our value proposition. Successful candidate will embrace continuous improvement in execution, and will bring thought leadership and innovation that supports internal and external customers.

What Will You Do?

  • Position will work in partnership with Risk Control Field and Business Unit liaisons to deliver on our commitments as described above.

  • Managing a workload in the Transportation technical discipline on a national level.

  • Managing staff of RC Transportation specialists with responsibilities for client surveys and local staff development.

  • Assure Transportation quality across the Risk Control group on assessment and services in the technical area.

  • Collaborate with field staff and business unit partners to meet underwriting goals of account differentiation and retaining business.

  • Collaborate in technical development of Risk Control staff in partnership with field management on areas of technical expertise. Conducts co-surveys with and performs quality assessments on work of field staff. Help build learning strategies and Individual Development Plans for field staff.

  • Contribute to marketing and communications as subject matter experts.

  • Act as lead subject matter expert for Transportation technical discipline.

  • Provide thought leadership on technical discipline and emerging issues.

  • Develops services in discipline that can include training, management consulting, seminars /webinars, electronic media, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Undergraduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, sciences or related technical fields preferred. Relevant experience in consulting or industry will be considered.

  • Influences others to take action on recommendations.

  • Makes complex technical information and recommendations understandable and clear to audiences with varied levels of technical knowledge.

  • As needed for discipline.

What is a Must Have?

  • Eight years in area of specialty (i.e., Inland Marine, Industrial Hygiene, Construction, etc.) required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Must be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state specific requirements where applicable.

  • Three years management required
