IT PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Summary

The IT Procurement Specialist handles sourcing and management of IT equipment and services from vendors and suppliers, as well as working with customer on orders. The position prepares and reviews requests for information (RFI's) and proposals (RFP's), contracts, and service level agreements based on the needs of the company and the stakeholders. The IT procurement specialist also tracks and reports on procurement data and coordinates the delivery and installation of IT products.

Requirements

The IT procurement specialist should have a bachelor's degree in an IT or business major and at least three years of experience in IT procurement or equivalent.

  • Responsibilities

  • Conducting sourcing activities to evaluate supplier pricing and offerings

  • Negotiating with multiple vendors to gain best available pricing

  • Reviewing contracts, terms, and service level agreements

  • Developing RFP’s and conducting associated due diligence on vendor responses

  • Inputting and tracking procurement data

  • Facilitating the planning and coordination of equipment delivery, installations, upgrades, and changes

  • Reviewing procurement items for categorization, coding, pricing and information accuracy in items database and request catalog

  • Managing daily IT hardware/software request and issuing Purchase Orders as needed

  • Quoting and managing structured orders directly with customers

  • Maintaining pricing models for equipment and services

  • Managing standard product configurations for typical orders

  • Managing inventory of in-stock equipment

  • Tracking lifecycle of contracts for equipment and cloud services
