Join Alliant Energy in this highly visible role as a Lead Corporate Strategy Manager . In this position you will work closely with the executive team and subject matter experts to drive the definition and refinement of our corporate strategy, including managing the process that culminates in the annual Strategic Planning Conference with the Alliant Energy Board of Directors. You will work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization to stay current on the latest customer, market, technology, people, and regulatory trends and to incorporate that information into planning efforts that advance the company's Strategy. You also perform research and financial analysis to educate, inform and make recommendations and you will collaborate on the development and execution of a Strategic Communication Plan that ensures employees are aware of, understand and are connected to the Strategy.
This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office. Candidates must reside in Iowa or Wisconsin.
What you will do
Collaborates with the executive team and subject matter experts to drive the definition and refinement of our corporate Strategy, including managing the process that culminates in the annual Strategic Planning Conference with the Board of Directors.
Establishes and manages stakeholder relationships across the organization and leads or collaborates with cross-functional teams to stay current on the latest customer, market, technology, people and regulatory trends; Incorporates insights into planning efforts that advance the company’s Strategy.
Tracks and examines the performance of strategic initiatives in order to ensure alignment with the Strategy. Provides guidance to senior management on necessary changes or interventions.
Develops and executes a Strategic Communication Plan that ensures employees are aware of, understand and are connected to the Strategy. Prepares and delivers Strategy-related presentations and communications to employees at all levels of the organization using a variety of methods and settings.
Performs research and financial analysis to provide insight on decisions made and actions taken by other utilities as well as companies who pose a competitive threat to Alliant Energy. Research and financial analysis can extend to assessments of proposed strategic initiatives, merger and acquisition opportunities and growth supporting the core investments. Routinely presents findings to executive team.
Collaborates with VP of Human Resources to establish annual Executive Goals, translating priorities identified during annual Strategic Planning process into meaningful and measurable goals assigned to one or more executive. Regularly solicits (from responsible parties) and provides (to executives) status updates on these goals during the year.
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related area is required.
Master's Degree is preferred.
- 7 years minimum of related experience.
Expanded knowledge and experience in own area; incumbents are still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
Builds knowledge of Alliant Energy, its processes and customers.
Solves a range of straightforward problems.
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
